White&Yellow

Instead of destroying the white or yellow figures I made originally I just kept adding to them.. changing the faces, hair or hands and adding clay to the legs to make them longer or reinforced.
Here are the newest incarnations. Still rough, especially the wings because they were an afterthought. And the hands and feet and arms because they get warped while I'm working on everything else. Oh dear. ,':^)

Breaking in my new Prismacolor pencils. Sharpening them is the hard part... they're so soft.

Little Women

Hmm. Well.. its progress. :^)
On the yellow figure I put more work into the face, adding eyelids and such. She didn't turn out too attractive, so I'll keep working on the small-scale faces. I tried my hand at clothing and hair, though. She's wearing goggles on her head.
I reworked the white figure a little and gave her a little q-tip scepter and a less zombie-ish face.

Modeling Clay

I got modeling clay for my birthday and have been semi-obsessed with it for the last week. I haven't gotten a lot of concentrated time to work on it but here and there I sculpted and resculpted this little bald zombie-looking lady. After getting most of the clay divided up and putting it together I realized too late that she would be somewhat top-heavy and very thin from front-to-back. But it was fun for a first try and I'm going to keep working on my skills, so interspersed with drawings on here you'll be seeing some of my attempts at clay modeling as well.

Lean On Me

This was doodled while I was half-asleep at Doug Tennapel's dining room table listening to a riveting discussion on the human soul and its pre- requisites for in-dwelling. Yes, that was a shameless name drop.

Rain in Spain

A young woman, presumably Spanish-American, probably the daughter of some dignitary type or other. Old daguerotype style.

Mother's Day

I couldn't wait for Mother's Day to post this drawing. Not much to tell... I used a reference photo. Curious thing, though.. my drawings of babies tend to look like old men that look like babies. Figure that out.
