A Little Birdy Told Me

I was walking to church one morning and this little bird flew past me and landed in the weeds beside the sidewalk. The curious thing is that this fat little bird was able to perch on this weak-looking little stalk. I thought for sure the thing would buckle but it didn't even sway. It's funny how the most unlikely little things can handle such big burdens.

Shiny

I drew this in pencil and began coloring it but my computer threatened to freeze so I emergency-saved the file. Now that the image is flattened I'm having a hard time using the multiply tool to finish the coloring.
On the other hand, I think I like it the way it is. The overall message I get from looking at this is that what we wear on the outside or what we strive for are dead, lifeless, colorless things compared to the inherent value we have as a person.
I can pull meaning out of everything. :^)

Messenger in a Bottle

I had a different idea in mind when I set out to draw this image. I had meant it to be more iconic of a woman trapped in her own vice of alcoholism, but she ended up looking too peaceful to make my point, so instead she's a messenger in a bottle.

Them Apples

Aw.. she's so cute! There's a little William Tell thing going on here.
Drawn in pen, colored with pencil.

Sang

Lady in the Hood

Random hooded young woman, drawn in pencil and computer-colored. Cute, huh?
I feel like the facial expression totally goes in a different direction than the rest of the drawing. Like her stance and robes say "graceful" but then her eyes and stuck-out tongue say "immature". That wasn't on purpose.. drawings evolve how they evolve, but I guess you can draw your own conclusions.
